Jakhu temple is a situated in Shimla, dedicated to the Hind deity, Hanuman.It is situated on Shimla hill miles east of the Ridge, Shimla at a height of 2455 above the sea level.Shimla highest peak offers a panoramic view of the Shivalik ranges at the town of Sanjauli.
An ancient Lord Hanuman temple is there and every week a big festival is held on Dussehra.you can go to the temple by foot from the Ridge or can hire a horse and Taxi.

One legend goes to the Hanuman stopped here rest while he was searching the sanjivani to revive the Laxmanana in the Epic Ramayana.On arrival at the temple, a sign advises visitors to the secure all the personal belonging and the beware of the Monkeys, which are everywhere.This is appropriate as the temple is in honor of the Monkey Lord.Visitors must remove shoes before entering the temple.
